The history of Väinölä dates right back to the eighteenth century, when it was one of the most significant trading places of the Ranua village. Back then people even came to trade from afar – by boat in the summer and along the frozen waterways during winter.
Väinölä Manor is an idyllic manor constructed in the Southern Lapland style in 1888, completely renovated with modern comforts.
The manor grounds cover 132 hectares. The actual courtyard is a two-hectare fenced area lying on the banks of the picturesque and clean Lake Simojärvi. The manor comprises two main buildings, a separate sauna building, an old barn, stables and a lit horse-riding field. The courtyard is fully lit with a variety of street lamps and spotlights.

One large loghouse with 7 bedrooms. 2-5 persons/ room. House is in two floors. Downstairs there is a dining room for max. 70 persons, big kitchen, two bedrooms and a sauna department. Upstairs is five bedrooms. Own toilets in every room. Normally there are beds for 25 persons but with extra beds there has been 45 persons.

Four apartments in two cottages. A big room with a fireplace for common use, good for breakfast, lunch and dinners for the whole group. Each apartment has its own toilet, shower and sauna, kitchen, one bedroom and a upstairs sleeping place ”parvi”. Apartments are from 4-6 persons each.
